Juan Antonio Torres, 77 of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on Monday, August 15th, 2016. Juan was the son of the late Aurora Ortiz y Montanez de Torres and Juan Antonio Torres y Rosa. He was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, and was raised in San Lorenzo until the age of 12 when he moved to the Bronx, NY., later serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 – 1960.
Juan had retired from the banking industry after 40 years with Chemical Bank, now JPMorgan Chase in the Bronx. He was a man of honor, courage and commitment with an unwavering love of family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife Amelia; his brother Luis and his wife Riana; his children - Ismael and his wife Patricia, Gregory and his wife Angela, Lucas and his wife Iris, John and his wife Jodi, and Estefania and her husband George; his former spouse and friend Martha; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Lydia.
The family will receive friends starting at 2 pm Saturday, August 27th at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, 1621 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. A small service will be held at approximately 4pm prior to cremation.
