Juanita June (Ball) Lowe of Westminster Manor, Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully on 30 June 2019 while under hospice care in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
She was born 19 November 1929 in Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio to the late Roy and Dorotha (Rouse) Ball. Juanita graduated from Jefferson Union High School, Richmond, Ohio in 1949. She worked at different jobs for a few years and later accepted a job at Henderson Hall, USMC, Arlington, Virginia. She met and married Bill. They settled in New Carlisle, Ohio. She was the devoted mother of three children.
Juanita is survived by her husband Billie (Bill) W. Lowe of 64 years; daughter, Brenda Miller (Glenn) of Urbana, Ohio, son, David Lowe (Carol) of La Grange Park, Illinois and daughter, Gayle Williams (Reginald) of St. Petersburg, FL and eight grandchildren, two of which are serving in the U.S. Air Force and one newly commissioned into the U.S. Navy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Delores Jones (Robert) of West Lafayette, Ohio.
While living in Ohio Juanita was a member of Honeycreek Presbyterian Church, New Carlisle, Ohio, where she served as Elder and President of the Women’s Association. After retiring to Florida she became a founding member and Elder of Braden River Presbyterian Church, Bradenton, Florida. She was also a member of Joy Circle, Fellowship team and Historian for the church.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution since 1998 and served one year as historian for the Osceola Chapter of the DAR. She also belonged to the following organizations; ”Daughters of Union Veterans, Civil War”, “Families of Presidents and First Ladies of America” and “Flagon and Trencher, descendants of Colonial Tavern Keepers”.
She enjoyed western square dancing. She and Bill traveled from coast to coast to dance in Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico and aboard cruise ships over a period of 38 years.
Juanita will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West Bradenton, FL 34207 in charge of arrangements. A Memorial service will be held for both Billie and Juanita in the chapel at Westminster Manor, 1700 21st Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34205 on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 9:30 A.M. Billie and Juanita will be laid to rest beside each other at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida with a private family service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be given to the Braden River Presbyterian Church at [email protected] , the Westminster Foundation, c/o Pastor Richard Bigelow at [email protected] or the Alzheimer’s Association.
