Juanita Maxine Bellar Spence, age 91, of Jackson, Ohio, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born Nov. 22, 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Nelson and Ruth (Days) Bellar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Earl Spence, two brothers, Harold and Earl Bellar and one sister, Virginia Stevenson. She is survived by one son, Philip Lee Spence (Princess Raynard) of South Webster, Ohio; two daughters, Ella Mae Cline of Londonderry, Ohio and Iva Jean Leach (Tom Scott) of Jackson, Ohio; six grandchildren: Jeff (Michelle) Leach, Todd (Linda) Leach, Robert (Debra) Cline, James (Tracy) Cline, Lori (Ivan) Turner and Sarah Beth Spence; twelve great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; one brother, Nelson Bellar Jr. of Portsmouth, Ohio; one sister, Katherine Lauderback of Minford, Ohio; many nieces and nephews, as well as, her church family. Juanita was a homemaker and throughout the years, she would baby sit, which she loved. She was a long-time member of the Community of Christ Church of Jackson where she served in different leadership roles of the Women's Group and taught Sunday School for many years. We were blessed with a wonderful mother, mamaw, sister, aunt and friend. Heaven has gained another angel. Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Friday, June 13, from 4 – 8 P.M., where funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 11 A.M. with Elder Harry Harrel officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Juanita's name to the Community of Christ Church, c/o Harry Harrel, 2236 Erwin Hollow Road, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
