Jude Williams Lewis passed away on November 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Jude was born February 26, 1970 to the late Eddie Charles Lewis and Eloise Williams Lewis. Brother of Denise Lewis-Crawford, the late Eddie Charles Lewis, Jr. and Dawn Marie Burt. Jude served the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard Reserve that totaled over 10 years. He also served the New Orleans Police Department beginning in 1998. Unfortunately, he was injured while on duty with the NOPD June 2001 and never fully recovered. He was taken care of by his mother until her passing in 2005. He was left under custodianship to his Aunt Elaine Thompson and cousin, Lorraine McCaskill, and later to his sister Denise Lewis-Crawford. Along with his family, all military veterans, New Orleans Police Officers, personnel and the New Orleans City community are welcome to see Officer Jude W. Lewis off to his final resting place. A Celebration honoring Jude's Life will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 9701 Hammond Street, on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10 AM. Interment South East Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Visitation 9 AM IN THE CHURCH. A Viewing will also be held at Charbonnet Family Services, 9200 I-10 Service Road, New Orleans East on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
