Judith A. Andrade

HERTFORD - Judith Ann Giaramita Andrade, 73, of 337 Riverfront Drive, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 in her home.

Mrs. Andrade was born in Contra Costa County, CA on January 25, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Paasch Giaramita. A retired tax preparer, she was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenton, where in years past she had worked part-time in the church office and had served as an Eucharistic Minister. An avid quilter, she was a member of the Perquimans Quilting Guild and the Perquimans Art League.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Andrade.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 53 years, Don R. Andrade; her daughter, Amy Andrade of Harrisburg; two sisters, Fran Leone of Pleasant Hill, CA and Carol Anderson of Pinole, CA; and two brothers, Richard Giaramita of El Sobrante, CA and Paul Giaramita of Peoria, AZ.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church Parish Hall and will be officiated by Monsignor Douglas Reed. Friends may join the family for a reception immediately following the service. The burial will be next week in Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, CA. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family requests that flowers be omitted, and contributions in her memory be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087. On the memo line of the check it should be noted, "To support Dr. Brentjens' Research Work", and a note should be included stating that the contribution is in memory of Judith Andrade.

The world was a kinder, sweeter place with Judy here...she had a heart of gold and a strong faith. Her sweet spirit drew people in and to know her was to love her. I will miss her esp when I need help with a quilt or a recipe or with my roses...she was such a talented lady but best of all, she was my friend. Until we meet again....
