Judith Anne Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 10, 2025.
Judith Menden Ann'e passed peacefully Saturday, April 5th, 2025. She was born August 28, 1939 to Esther Lada Menden and Guy Menden and was their cherished only child. She attended Edwin C. Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan where she met and later married Charles William Ann'e. The couple settled in St. Clair Shores where they raised their 3 children and were active members in the community and at Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Judith is survived by her children: Dana Marzonie (John), Douglas Ann'e (Charissa), and Amy Krzywiecki (Keith); and grandchildren Emily, Alyson, Margaret, Sarah, Elizabeth, Abigail, Claire, Connor and Henry.

She was a loving mother who organized endless family outings which included local beaches to cultural institutions around Detroit. Summers were filled with road trips to visit family in Northern Michigan and Pennsylvania, while winters revolved around her son's hockey travels. Judith created a warm and welcoming home that became a gathering spot for the neighborhood children. She had a talent for decorating, a love of cooking and enjoyed spending hours in the yard eating al fresco, gardening, swimming or skating on the annual ice rink.

Later in life Judi began a career with The American Red Cross, dedicating 20 years to the Blood Drive Team traveling across Michigan. She became a Certified Master Gardener, volunteered extensively and earned recognition for her enchanting yard. The Joy Street garden was featured on The Frugal Gardener television show and she was honored when asked to join The Grosse Pointe Men's Gardening Club. The Sundance Movie Festival was another favorite volunteer opportunity in Utah, where she happily spent time with her son and family. Judi was grateful to have good friends for adventures throughout Europe, Florida and the American West.

Judith's nine grandchildren were her most treasured blessings. Having Amy's family nearby provided countless opportunities for gatherings and she was fearless in navigating solo road trips to Illinois to visit Dana's family or flying to Utah to stay with Doug and family. Whatever the request or adventure, she was there with the same zest she possessed while raising her family.

She will be remembered for her dazzling smile, boundless energy, inspirational creativity, resolute determination and engaging sense of humor. Those who love her will miss Judi dearly, but find peace in knowing she is in a better place and are comforted by their cherished memories which unequivocally exemplify her Joy for Life.

And we would be remiss if we neglected to mention the family dogs: Arrow, Columbo and Bogart (Bogie), for she loved them beyond!

A Celebration of Life will take place later this summer.

I'm so sorry about Judy passing. She was my cousin and she shared so many family stories with me. She had such a joy, a glow to her that brought happiness to anyone she met. I will miss her light.
