Judith Byers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2023.
Judith Elaine Byers, also known as Judi, passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 86 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 12, 1936, to Irene and Cliff Ammons in Millington, Illinois. Judi was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and will be greatly missed by many.

Judi had a passion for life, her friends and family, and her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a devoted woman of faith; spending hours reading the Bible, studying Hebrew. She attended Grace Fellowship Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith.

In her earlier years, Judi was a dedicated homemaker. In 1989, she moved to Tulsa with only $3 in her pocket and embarked on a successful career in advertising sales. Shortly after, she purchased her first rental property and transitioned into full-time real estate. With hard work and determination, Judi acquired more properties while diligently renovating them to provide wonderful homes for her tenants.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Judi found joy in gardening. She spent countless hours each day nurturing her backyard, creating a beautiful and peaceful oasis. Her green thumb was evident in the spread of vibrant blooms and well-tended plants that filled her garden. Judi's affinity for caring for plants and her home also extended to the people around her. She had a knack for jumping to action when she found a neighbor, tenant or friend in need. Her playful and fiery spirit blessed others in her life.

Judi is survived by her oldest daughter, Susan Groves, and her husband John Groves, along with granddaughters Lauren and Anna Groves. She is also survived by her son, Michael Byers, and his wife Angela Byers, along with granddaughters Alannah and Lindsey Byers. Additionally, Judi leaves behind her brother Ron Ammons, niece Karen, and nephews Paul, Jimmy and David.

She is preceded in death by her mother Irene and her father Cliff Ammons, and former husband Raymond Byers. Judi will be greeted in Heaven by her daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Byers who passed away last year.

A ceremony to celebrate Judi's life will be held at The Glass Veranda at Forest Ridge Country Club on Friday, July 7th 2023 at 2PM.
The address is 7501 E Kenosha St, Broken Arrow, OK 74014. Family and friends will gather to remember her and share cherished memories.

Contributions in Judi's memory can be made to Season's Hospice, a charitable organization she held dear to her heart. Flowers can be sent to Katie Davis at Forest Ridge Country Club.

Judi's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
