Judith Greenameyer Obituary

Oklahoma City - Judith "Judy" Bauer Greenameyer (May 3, 1942- March 20, 2025) of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 20, 2025, at the age of 82.

Judy was born in Winona, Minnesota to Donald and Anita Bauer. The family moved to Austin, Minnesota where she would meet the love of her life and high school sweetheart, John. They initially made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota before moving to Fort Dodge, Iowa and then to Yukon, Oklahoma with their two children.

She was deeply rooted in her Lutheran faith throughout her life, volunteering at each church where she was a member.

She made a career in the Senior Care field, starting as activities director before becoming a nursing home administrator and then executive director of a retirement community.

She was a sports fan, especially of her children and, eventually, her grandchildren. When it came to her grandchildren, they loved her motto: "Dessert First!" She instilled a sense of imagination in them by taking them on adventures around the world without ever leaving the living room. Her kids' friends were her friends, and they knew they could stop by to talk to her at 1:00 in the morning when they saw the lights still on. She had a way of handling things with a quick wit and boisterous laugh. She always had the backs of her family and friends.

She was an avid reader, building quite a library. She had a love of Broadway musicals and old classic films. We will remember her for her golf game, especially her putting from the fairway, which we call "Doin' the Judy."

She will be greatly missed by her loved ones: her husband of 61 years, John, son Jeff (Sheila) Greenameyer of Denison, TX, daughter Jill (Jim) Brown of Oklahoma City, and her 5 favorite grandchildren, Austin (Jordan), Cole, and Taylor Greenameyer, and John (Natalie) and Jimmy Brown. She will also be missed by her siblings, Carol (Marlin) Horner of Vacaville, CA, Bruce (Sandy) Bauer of Winona, MN, and Gary Bauer of Madison, WI.

A private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
