Judy A. Himes, age 69, went to be with our Lord and savior on March 5th.

Judy was born on September 20, 1953 in Napa Ca. She graduated from Napa High School in 1971 where she was a Pom-Pom girl. She later received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from CSU Sacramento. While attending Sac State, she met the love of her life, Dennis, and they were married on May 14, 1977. Judy also received her masters degree from University of San Francisco in Psychology- Marriage and Family Counseling. Following the arrival of their first child, Judy and Dennis relocated to Modesto, Ca where she resided until her death.

Judy was a gifted musician and taught piano through the Modesto Suzuki Association for 36 years. She touched many students' lives; and not only taught them the fundamentals of piano, but also life lessons along the way.

Later in life, Judy enjoyed attending Zumba classes, tending to her animals, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family. She particularly experienced great joy with the arrival of her two grandsons.

Judy is survived by children Hailey (William Morris) Himes and Cory (Amelia) Himes of Modesto, Grandchildren Keehan Morris and Greyson Himes of Modesto, and brother Greg (Kay) Gibson of Redding. She was preceded in death by parents Phillip and Mary Gibson, sister Marilyn Gibson, as well as her husband Dennis Himes.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 17th at 10am at Franklin and Downs Chapel, with burial following at Lakewood Memorial Park.
