Judith Kroner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 17, 2025.
Judith (Berger) Kroner, 84, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Judy was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on September 17, 1940, to Ann (Casciato) and George Berger. She attended Beaver Falls High School and upon graduation attended Sewickley Valley School of Nursing where she obtained her Registered Nursing License. Shortly after she married, she moved from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma and then to California. Later in life, Judy returned to college and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from Chapman University. During her 40-year nursing career, she worked as a surgical nurse with specialization in orthopedic and cardiac surgeries. As a nursing manager, she led nursing teams in the surgery and labor and delivery departments as well as short stay surgery. Upon retirement, she moved to Phoenix where she lived for 20 years.

Judy dedicated her life to her family and her 40-year career as a nurse. She never shied away from an opportunity to get involved and serve others. Her home was always open for friends and family, and she enjoyed entertaining for celebrations both great and small. She was actively involved in Wiseburn Little League as a softball coach, a member of the women's auxiliary, and later a board member and player's agent. In addition, she was actively involved in AORN for many years and served as the president of her local chapter. She loved spending time with family and friends, supporting her children at their many sporting events and cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh sports teams. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed playing bridge, poker and bingo.

Judy is survived by her son David Kroner, daughter and son in law Debra and Peter Levins, son Michael Kroner and her grandchildren, Christoper (Haley) Kroner, Brandon Kroner, Ryan (McKenna) Levins, Matthew (Taylor) Levins, Sarah (Nathan) Martin, and Katelyn (Erick) Varella and four great grandchildren, Jaxon Kroner, Elise Kroner, Calvin Levins and Easton Levins, and her brothers Ronald Berger and Robert Berger. She is further survived by many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Ann and George Berger, her sister Bonnie Gilchrist and her brother Thomas Berger.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Judith's life will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Community on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.

Service flowers will later be shared with Judy's group home and her grandson's senior living community.
