Judy Marshall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2025.
Judy Marshall, formerly Judy Jones, passed April 26th, unexpectantly and without suffering, when her heart stopped and resuscitation was unsuccessful. She was 71.

She is survived by her husband Karl, her son Austin, her daughter-in-law Summer and her grandchildren Sagan and Noi and many nieces and nephews. Last year Karl and Judy celebrated 50 years of marriage. Judy is preceded in death by her brothers Oliver and Emmett, her sister Opal and her son Blake.

After a long career in nursing, Judy was enjoying retirement. She was an Honorary Aunt to the Richardson family and deeply loved by every family member.

Judy was proud of the pink roses she grew and of her birth status as a BOI. Although residing in Clear Lake, nothing ever happened in Galveston that Judy didn't know about. Judy enjoyed volunteering at the Bryan Museum, helping whenever she was called. She greeted and checked in guests at the extravagant annual gala every year.

We called her "Foodie Judy." She was the one to ask about any restaurant anywhere and had a true talent for knowing the most delicious item to order from any menu.

Judy loved road trips. You could find her driving to San Antonio, Round Top, Canton and across the country, somehow knowing the most fun places to stop and staying at the most interesting B&Bs along the way. Every year she helped at her niece's annual Book Lover's Club Convention regardless of which city it was located that year.

Judy was devoted to her church family at Faith Lutheran. Two years ago a devastating fire occurred in the building. This was an emotional time for Judy.

We will never be able to fill that special place in our hearts again.

All are welcome to join us at the memorial service to be held on May 31st from Noon to 3:00 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall at 4613 Highway 3 in Dickinson.

In lieu of flowers, Judy would have liked donations given to the nonprofit restoring the historic League-Kempner mansion at 1702 Broadway in Galveston. www.leaguekempnerhouse.org/support-us
