Julia M. Brazil

Julia M. Brazil, 87, of Lufkin, was born March 26, 1921, in Carmona, Polk County, Texas, the daughter of the Georgie (Mask) and W.S. Lindsey. She passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009, in a local nursing facility. Mrs. Brazil was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a telephone operator during World War II, and later attended Massey Business College. Mrs. Brazil was a member of Timberland Drive Church of Christ. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Patsy Brazil of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Mike Nichols of Houston, grandsons and their wives, Dewain and Jennifer Brazil of Lufkin, James and Angie Brazil of Nacogdoches, Travis and Jana Brazil of Lufkin, and Michael and Leslie Brazil of Virginia; granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Randy Frankens of Lufkin; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Donald Beaty; niece, Carolyn Feazell; and a number of other family members. Mrs. Brazil was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brazil in 1978; and her sisters, Jean Lofton and Billie. Pallbearers will be Matt Brazil, Conner Brazil, Dewain Brazil, Travis Brazil, James Brazil and Randy Frankens. Graveside services for Mrs. Brazil will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Walker Cemetery, with Harold Hancock officiating. Gipson Funeral Home; Joni Johnson, director.
