She was the dearly loved sister of Her Worship Philomen Wright (Wilbur, deceased) and Patricia Lewis (Graham); greatly loved former wife of Dr. Lanval Joseph Daly and equally loved by Dr. Suzanne Buchanan, Dr. Daly's wife and their son, Jordan. Dear Children, Pat, Philomen and other relatives,

If I were asked, "Who is Jan Norman?" I would probably reply... "Sister Norman's grand-daughter". After the late 1960's she and the other Normans would be seldom seen (by me). I would occasionally wonder where the Normans were. Strangely enough, on the day that I heard of her passing, I realised that she (as well as the other Normans) crossed my mind a few days before. I won't be surprised if that event had not occurred just about the time she passed. I now know that Jan lived a full and meaningful life that must be celebrated and for which we must thank God. May she rest in peace.

Philo,Pat and the rest of the family,
Cherished memories cannot be erased. Even as you grieve know that Jan has left an indelible mark on the lives of so many. Her courage and dignity in the face of her long illness testify to her sterling character. She was a LADY,in the highest sense of the word -and this is as far back as her early days at Bishop Anstey High School.
As in life, she is still Divinely embraced and so are you all. May you find comfort in this knowing.
Peace and Love
Ancilla

Jan: It was God’s will to take you now;
He has fixed His seal upon your brow.
He fortified your soul - quenched your thirst,
Cut you off now so you’ll rise with the first.
Through faith and works you’ve claimed His gift,
Your demise was untimely, yet not swift.
No death-sting, no grave-victory: your soul’s on high.
There’s a grave to visit, to decorate and cry.
Transformed from mortal to immortality
You are more indomitable now than you used to be.
You’ve become integral with the moon
And will shine silvery-bright on some lagoon.
You will be integral with the stars
You’ll twinkle when Black females are called to the Bars.
You’ll co-mingle with the showers of rain
Water the flowers and the crops of grain.
And when I feel the cool winter breeze
Or see the summer’s wind gently blowing the trees,
Even though I may become melancholy
I shall recall how you gave unselfishly.
You shall be integral with the sun’s rays
And will give us bright sunny days,
And when the sunshine bathes my face
Your apparition will fill that space.
Your voice will stir the songs of the nightingales
And the evening cries of the whippoorwills.
Your love will be part of the cycle on earth
And be given to everyone at birth.
So though we may think of you and cry,
Your soul is alive – you did not die.

Asali and I extend our condolences to you and your family. We understand very well the particular pain, grief and sorrow you all feel at this time as this experience comes just two days before the passing and one year anniversary of our daughter.
