Pastor Ivean M. Boyd Obituary
Ivean Boyd was born on January 17, 1942 in Prairie Point, MS to the late Carrie Robinson-Mattix and Willie Mattix, Sr.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with Christian Hill M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Bowen, where she remained until death.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Rev. Oscar Boyd, Sr. for 53 years. After his passing, she served as the Senior Pastor of Christ M.B. Church. She was also employed at Johnston Tombigbee Furniture Company as a Supervisor for 35 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Rev. Oscar Boyd, Sr., and her siblings; George and Willie Mattix and Nancy Lee Macon.
Pastor Ivean Boyd leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Oscar Boyd, Jr. and J.C. Boyd (Teletha), II of Columbus, MS; four sisters, Lula Will Brooks and Hattie Malone of Chicago, IL, Ida Ruth Mattix of Macon, MS, and Allie McCollum of Berwyn, IL; two sisters-in-law, Betty Boyd and Queen Boyd of Brooklyn, NY; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; the best cousin a girl could ever have, Jannie Turner of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
