Julie Ann Jorgenson was born Jan. 7, 1984, in Rapid City, S.D., to Mary Jo Waters and Ron Jorgenson.
Her family moved to Idaho Falls in 1990, where Julie attended school, graduating from Bonneville High School in 2002.
Throughout the years, Julie was active in soccer, dance, basketball and skiing, activities that developed her passion for fitness and health. She studied child development at the University of Utah, graduating in 2006, and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. While at school, she began her career at McCann Worldgroup, a Salt Lake City advertising agency, and quickly moved up the ladder to become a senior account executive, a job she absolutely loved. She was married to Eric Richins on Aug. 12, 2005. Julie was pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Westminster College and was recently honored with a "Truth Well Told" award at McCann's Salt Lake City office.
Julie's immediate survivors include her mother, Mary Waters; stepdad, Mike Waters; her sister, Rebecca Jorgenson; niece, Mya, who adored Julie's blond hair; and her three brothers, Colin, Austin and Tyler, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her father, Ron R. Jorgenson of Boulder, Colo.; and her former husband, Eric Richins of Bountiful, Utah.
Julie lived her life with passion. She loved skiing, hiking, biking and running in the Wasatch canyons with her friends, and in the Colorado Rockies with her father. When she wasn't working or studying, she was shopping, dining and traveling -- and always giggling -- with her amazing circle of friends. She cherished the moments spent with her aunts, uncles, cousins and especially her grandparents and great-grandmother.
Julie was a born again believer in Christ and loved her family with all of her heart. She was the best big sister ever, a loyal and loving daughter and a generous and kind friend. She will be missed forever.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Capital Church, 1010 E. 700 South in Salt Lake City. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services. A memorial fund in Julie Ann Jorgenson's name has been established at the America First Credit Union. Memories of Julie can be shared at www.serenicare.com.

Julie & I went to Bonneville together & lived a couple doors down from one another. We used to get up bright & early & carpool to the Apple Athletic Club before school. She was known as one of the prettiest girls at school. Not only was she pretty on the outside, but even more beautiful on the inside. I am so sorry for the void you are feeling with her passing. Your family is in my prayers. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time with her all those years ago. God Bless You.

My husband & I witness the accident that took this beautiful woman's life. We are sorry for her families loss. There are no words to describe how much our hearts ached when we were told that she passed away from this terrible accident, and the guilt felt that if we had only tried harder or been faster..., we are so sorry. Our belief in Jesus Christ has given us peace for your reunion with Julie in Heaven and we pray comfort and peace for you. -Johnson

Dear Mary Jo, I'm so sorry for your loss of your daughter. I have a daughter the same age. It's been so long since I've seen you. This is such a shame. There must be a bigger plan we don't understand. My condolences,

I wish I had had the opportunity to know Julie better--we only passed in the halls at McCann Erickson--but her bright smile and cheerful attitude were contagious. I know she will be sorely missed. My condolences to all her many family and friends.

You didn't have to know Julie "well" to feel like you knew her SO well! Just such a WARM, kind, sweet, sincere person. Truly a blessing to have had her in our lives, and her memory and example will continue with me and all that knew her. Hopefully we all can smile and love life like Julie did, and treat people as she did.

A kinder, more gentle and caring spirit I have never known. Julie, The Voice, the gorgeous, both inside and out, sweet friend. My life was brighter because you had shared yours with me. You will never be forgotten and remembered with love and adoration. You left behind a host of friends, family and mere acquaintances who's lives you touched and left better than you found them, people who will miss you dearly.

I was a socially-awkward nerd back in high school. Julie was a popular beautiful girl. But despite not knowing me very well, she always joked with me in the classes we shared with no inhibitions or care for social norms. The kindness and attention she showed me gave me confidence and boosted my faith in humanity.

Julie started out as our nanny and soon became part of our family. She was adored by us and especially our daugther whom she cared for at the time. Mikaela (our daughter) believed Julie was her Cinderella. In fact we all did! She was loving, intelligent, trustworthy and responsible. These are all a tribute to her family. We thank her family for sharing her with us and thank Julie for being a part of our family. Her impact on our family will be felt forever. She continues to live on with us and was a truly beautiful young woman, inside and out. Love The Serios - Mike, Lisa, Mikaela, and Sammy

To show how far reaching Julie's kindness and friendship goes, we were currently working daily with Julie at Verisign where she will be sorely missed.
In the few trips I made out to Salt Lake City, she made sure we were comfortable, always had what we needed, and even went to far to get us little gifts. She was a person who you immediately considered a friend not just a co-worker.
Julie was even interested in what I did out of work and I was able to share our dream of helping children and teaching faith in Christ through animal therapy.
Our prayers continue to go out for the family and friends. She will be dearly missed in this life.
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
