I will always remember Julie's role as a deaf-mute in one of her father John Payne's Restless Gun episodes. She was brilliant, probably the best portrayal of a deaf-mute I have ever seen. I always felt she should have had a more significant acting career in television.

I lived with the family and was the nanny for a time in Malibu. Sad to read of her passing. God bless the family.

I never got to know her in person but I sure remember watching every film she was in. On a side note, I have Emphysema stage 3 myself. The sad thing is I believe we might be related through my mother's side of the family which is Jones-Bailey-Davis-Mustard-Brown-Payne. I would love to connect with any Family to find out for sure. I found the Browns through my 2nd Cousin Rebecca "Becky" Sowers (Whose mother is Elsie Davis Cox) who connected me to R. Lyle Brown of whom both have graduated to heaven. Rest in Eternity until I get there....

I first met her about 15 years ago when we were both working on our genealogies (she is my second cousin) and she was just such a kind, generous and loving woman, with so many interests. I was so happy to have connected with her. My sincere condolences to Steve and Katherine. I just found out she passed when I tried to contact her this week. I will miss her. Jill Martin

I live in England, the UK & have been working, part-time, on an amateur project on the life of her mother, Anne Shirley. I have only just found out that Julie passed away in June. I would have liked to have written to her about her mother. It will be a matter of extreme regret that that cannot now happen. RIP Julie.
