Julie Robbins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 4, 2012.
Julie Baker Robbins
January 15, 1960 – August 30, 2012

Our beloved Julie passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2012, at her home in New Bern, North Carolina. Julie was born to George L. (Roy) Baker and Martha Trujillo Baker. She grew up in Tooele, Utah, where she graduated from Tooele high school in 1978. Julie was an active member of the Catholic Church. She began riding horses and competing in various Rodeo's and Barrel racing as well as Show horse Competition's, including Western Pleasures Competitions and came in as runner up in the Princess competition at age 13. She Married David Garcia (later divorced) and had one son, Eric. She started her career at age 25 in civil service at Tooele Army Depot and later moved to Texas and eventually to North Carolina where for the last 6 years of her 27 year career she worked at Cherry Point in New Bern, North Carolina as a Production Controller and took her position very serious and was very good at what she did, often going the extra mile to help anyone who needed her help. She was respected and admired by everyone. Simply put she was a kind, thoughtful, funny, caring professional and a great friend who cared deeply for those around her. She was not just a co-worker, she was part of the family. Julie was known as quite a prankster and enjoyed pulling pranks on her co-workers just to get a good laugh but found herself on the receiving end of pranks and was surprised that she could fall for them. She will be sorely missed by all of her co-workers and friends in North Carolina. Julie loved coming back to Utah to spend time with her Dad who was also her best friend.
A quote from her Uncle Renny who passed away a few years ago, "Do your best and don't look back"
She was survived by her Father, Mother, Son and two Granddaughters.
Services will be held Saturday September 8, 2012 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial 3401 S. Highland Dr., where family and friends can call at 1:00 PM to pay respects with the funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM.

Julie I so know that you are the one flickering my bathroom lights, no one else I know would choose that way to get my attention. It comforts me to feel your presence and puts a smile on my face knowing you haven't lost your prankster sense of humor, I truly get it and thank you. Laugh on Sister :)

Julie was a pleasure to know and work with and we are all deeply saddened by her passing. Everyone will certainly miss the laughter that was infectious when she was in a room sharing her stories or just being "Julie". She was thoughtful, kind, funny and generous and all of us who knew her are thankful for the blessing of enjoying her company. I am honored to have known her and to call her my friend and a member of my immediate family. Roy, you already know that Julie was one of a kind and was loved by many! Please kow that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

In a lifetime you only meet a few unique, generous, & thoughful people. I'm happy to say that I was blessed to be friends with one of the best! Julie, you were a good friend. The office isn't the same without you here. I still expect to see your car in "your" parking space. Words just can't express the loss we all feel, that I feel.
To Julie's Dad: I hope you can be comforted by how loved, admired, & appreciated Julie was to everyone here in North Carolina. Her generousity and good nature must come from the love received from you. She truly was a treasure!
I hope she is up there playing jokes on the other angles around her. Love you, miss you Julie!

Such a shock and horrible loss. We were "two alike" for a time when I needed someone the most. So many wonderful memories to keep me smiling. You were a great friend.
Prayers and peace of heart to your daddy.

I can not believe Julie is no longer with us. I just found out today that she passed. Julie was a very good friend of mine here in Tooele, we laughed, we cried, and we had each other. To her family your loss is my loss. May God give you peace and strength to go on knowing we will not hear her laugh again. Julie, rest in peace sweet girlfriend.

There are no words I can find to say that would help the pain that Julies family is feeling right now. I was able to have her as a very dear friend for much of our growing up years. All of us that lived on Fairlane Drive in Tooele,we had a special kind of friendship, ALLOT of memories with her, I have missed her after all these years, When I would stop by to check on my mom,I always thought about her and our memories of growing up allot of those make me laugh, and some even sad I have missed her. To her family "there are no goodbyes ... we truly will see them again "..may the love and faith give you some comfort at this difficult time. Rhonda Gillespie Larsen

Baby Juke - Too young to be taken from this life! I love you and will miss you! I have many good memories with you; going to eat Mexican on Friday, and my one and probably only time I went and played Bingo with you. It was fun and I actually won. I pray that God will bless your dad and he will find peace in his own time. You will be missed by many. I love you girl.
