On Nov. 4, 2004, at age 93, of Pembroke, FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. Son of the late Rabbi Max and Goldie Levinson. Husband of the late Esther Levinson; father of Melvin Evenson of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and the late Gloria L. Wald; also preceded in death by brothers, Irving, David and Abe. His sister Ann lives in New York City. He was born on April 9, 1911, in Billingham, Washington, and was a 1929 graduate of Johnstown (Pa.) High School. Mr. Levinson resided in Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh) for over 40 years, where he was a longtime Master Electrician and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and a past President of the Lion's Club. He was also a member of the Tree of Life Synagogue. He retired in 1976 and resided in Pembroke Pines for the past 25 years (1979-2004). Family members representing Mr. Levinson at his Nov. 7 funeral at Beth David Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, FL, were his grandchildren, Margi Wald of Oakland, CA, and Bruce Wald of California, PA, and cousins Sara & Hyman Newberg of Boynton Beach, FL, and Fran & Jerry Newberg of Boca Raton, FL. Sara and I have had the pleasure of knowing Julius for over 50 years. We remember the love that he showed for his late wife Esther. They will both be missed greatly. God Bless their souls.
