Julius Munford Obituary
Julius Gordon Munford, 67, of Smithfield passed away on June 16, 2020 at his residence, with his family and his beloved dog “Miss Daisy Duke’ by his side. He was the son of the late Gordon “Jack” Munford and Marie Ellis Munford. Mr. Munford is survived by his wife of 37 years Tamara Ann Munford; sons, Timothy Munford (Jessica), Christopher Munford and John Munford; daughter, Ann Marie Caldwell (Scott); grandchildren, Shyanne, Carter, Kaleb, Derek, Caitlin and Gavin; sisters, Jean McClelland and Joyce Perry (Wayne). He was preceded in death by a brother John Lee “Buddy” Munford. He was a Life Member of the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, a past director of the Smithfield Jaycees and a District Boy Scout Leader. He retired from Surry Dominion Power and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Dear Tammy and your children, I was so sorry to read in the Smithfield Times today about Julius passing on to Heaven. He was a good friend and co-worker at Virginia Power, Surry Power Station. Julius was considered a great friend by me and scouting in Smithfield. We shared a lot through scouting in our lives in this area. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.
