Carolyn B. Price, died on Thursday, March 27, 2014 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Clinton, Tennessee to John and Maggie Suffridge Beeler. Carol was raised in Huntsville, Alabama and was the youngest of three sisters. She graduated from high school in 1960 and later received an Associate of Arts degree from Wesley College, Dover, Delaware, in 1988. Married to Rev. Robert Price for 41 years, she spent 33 of those years ministering with him to United Methodist churches in Delaware, Maryland and Texas. She served on numerous boards and committees of the Peninsula-Delaware conference of the United Methodist Church including time as chair of the stewardship division of the Board of Discipleship. Carol worked as a bookkeeper and executive assistant at Broad Meadow School in Middletown, Delaware, and as an assistant to the vice president for institutional development at Wesley College. When they retired in 2005, they returned to Rev. Price's home, San Antonio, Texas, to escape the ice and snow and to enjoy their grandchildren. Carol worked part-time as a manager for Liberty Tax. She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and was active in the Seekers Class there. She was also an active member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, San Antonio Chapter. Carol was known for her warm smile, her compassion, and her practical, grounded faith. She will be greatly missed. Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father, and by her daughter, Kimberly Dawn Dyar. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Price; her son, Greg Dyar and his wife, Lisa, and grandsons Andrew, Peter and Thomas of Austin; step-son, Jeff Price and his wife, Stephanie and granddaughter Isabella of San Antonio; sister, Nita Miller of Atlanta; sister, Betty Matthews and her husband, Jack of Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church.
