Boonville- Justin Ryan King, 36, of Nebo Road, our beloved son, father, and brother, left this world Saturday afternoon September 29, 2018. He was born July 15, 1982 in Surry County to Ronald and Susan York King. Justin was a drafter by trade, but his true love was hunting and fishing. That is where he found the most happiness and joy in life. Justin was well known and liked very much in hunting circles and had written several articles in various hunting magazines. Justin had a strong faith in God, was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and he believed in the power of prayer. He taught his daughter the importance of praying at bedtime and before meals. Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edith “Nanny” York, Buck York, and by his paternal grandparents, Miles King, Jr., Doris Shermer. Surviving are his parents, Ronald King and Susan York King of Rockford Road, Boonville; his daughter, Kailey Madison King; sister, Candace (Sam) Turner and their children, Lauren and Sam; his twin sister, Jennifer (Jon) Redding; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1524 Nebo Road, Boonville, NC 27011. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Thursday in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by Rev. Robin Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Starmount Middle School Hunter Safety Team, c/o Mark Hardy, 5612 Windsor road, Union Grove, NC 28689. I had the honor to meet Justin about 10 years ago. He trained the first bear dog I ever owned. Although she is retired, I still have this dog. I met him on several occasions at Walker Days and always enjoyed trading hunting stories with him. I dedicate this hunting season to you, my friend. Rest In Peace.

So sorry to hear of Justins sudden passing. My father and I met him right after my mother passed, he took right to my father and he took to Justin. My son, Eric Ford, met Justin while he was living in Washington. Eric and Justin shared a passion for hunting and became close friends. Eric just recently visited Justin and had plans to bear hunt later in October. He was deeply saddened by the news of Justin's passing.
