Dr. K.C. Miller

MILLER, Dr. K.C. (Jim) December 6, 1922 - June 23, 2007 On June 23, 2007, at the age of 84, Jim passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his children. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his children, Barbara (Brent) Green, Heather (Marvin) Bjornstad, Ken (Maureen) Miller and Richard (Marcia) Miller; his nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin, Leanne, Kara, Julie, David, Colin, Paul and Tegan; and Irene Miller, mother of his four children. He is also survived by brothers, Dr. George (Marilyn) Miller and Dr. Richard (Ann Marie) Miller; sisters, Ann Crane and Joanne (Jim) Ramsbottom; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. F. G. (Fred) and Cora Miller; brother, Hugh; brother-in-law, David Crane; second wife, Esther; and special friend Ada Van Camp. Jim was born and raised in Elk Point. Following RCAF service in World War II, Jim earned his medical degree at the University of Alberta and returned to Elk Point to practice medicine with his father. He served patients in the area for over 40 years, retiring in the mid-1990s. He was strongly involved in community life and generously supported local activities and endeavors. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Elk Point United Church, Elk Point, on Friday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Hunter officiating.
