Kaila Cearbaugh Obituary
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 2012 and attended Ivy Tech Community College for two years. She had worked at Whitley County YMCA in the childcare center and then started working at Columbia City High School in April of this year as a resource assistant for special needs children.
"Kaila loved her family and friends. She was the life of every party and lived life to the fullest. Her caring heart showed at her job working with special needs children. Kaila loved the outdoors and taking care of animals. She was an extraordinary gift we were blessed with for 22 short years. Kaila loved Christ and is waiting with Him until we are all together again."
Survivors include her parents, Kelly M. and Ashley A. Cearbaugh, of Larwill; sister, Drew A. Cearbaugh, of Larwill; maternal grandfather, Errol (Sandy Wysong) Dunn, of Columbia City; paternal grandparents, Fred and Sharon Cearbaugh, of Columbia City; maternal great-grandmother, Betty (Smitley) Rump; uncles and aunts, Kent and Linda Cearbaugh, of Columbia City, Kevin and Paula Cearbaugh, of Columbia City, Darrin and Lori Dunn, of Albion, and Meghan and Trent Lawrence, of Tacoma, Wash.; nephew, Elias Wiggins, of Larwill; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Becky (Rump) Dunn; and great-grandfather, Don Rump.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

We never know when we will pass. That's why we have to live everyday as it is are last. Easier said then done. I can't imagine loosing a child and all my heart and soul and prayers are with you for your family. Just rremember her as she was. The good times. I don't know this beautiful angel but i see she is light. She is home with god almighty. Stay strong in your faith. Someday u will see her again. And she will always be right their in your heart. I am so sorry. I would give up my life for her to live. We are all brothers and sisters in christ. She was and is loved. I remember i saw her at walmart one time. I will never forget her kind heart and that beautiful smile. She told me she loved my red hair. So down to earth so beautiful. And beauty within. May god be with you and your family. Time heals all wounds. I also myself suffered a loss of a loved one. Remember her as she was. She is the most beautiful angel in heaven. Be strong. All prayers for your beautiful daughter and your family. God bless. Stay strong.
