Kandarp K. Vora

Kandarp K. Vora, M.D. passed away, after an extended illness, at home on Jan. 11, 2017. He was born on Dec. 10, 1947, in Patan, India. He is survived by Smruti, his loving wife of 44 years. His daughter, Anvi Vora; his son and daughter-in-law, Alok and Vasavi Vora; and grandson Nishad (born on May 4) who brought so much pride and joy to his heart. Dr. Vora worked as a physician in Gladwin County for over 38 years with time spent on staff at Gladwin Hopsital (Mid Michigan Medical Center), Standish Hospital, the Pines Nursing Home and Gladwin Nursing and Rehab. He was very supportive of the community, in particular to Gladwin Schools and their students, as well as being a major supporter and benefactor of the Gladwin City Police Department.
Dr. Vora's work here on earth is complete. He received a call, an offer he just could not refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. Good news is that this appointment comes as a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in quite some time. His mission takes him to a place where he will be writing poetry and sharing his jokes, optimistic quotes and drawings. We will remember his smile, warmth, energy and his love for life, family, friends and patients (many of whom
became friends over time). He worked very hard all his life making a difference in this world. He taught us many valuable lessons along the way – such as "Don't let worry worry you, in fact, don't worry, be happy!" and, "Life is short, live each day to the fullest."
