Karen Carr

Karen Jean Carr, 60, a longtime resident of Crownsville, passed away peacefully at her home on April 7, 2016. Karen was born on March 20, 1956 in New York and later moved to Maryland, where she attended Arundel High School. Her family moved to New Hampshire her senior year where she graduated from Winnacunnet High School. Karen was employed with Arden Air Freight for over 30 years, following that she continued her career with the State of Maryland. She enjoyed shopping, being at the beach, and walking, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Karen is survived by her husband of 39 years, William Carr III; her son, William Carr IV (Katherine); her daughter, Amanda Carletti (Jace); her daughter, Jenna Carr; her father, Robert Shephard; her sisters, Mary Beard and Valerie Lambert; her brothers, Robert and Richard Shephard; as well as, her granddaughter, Natalie Carr. Family and friends may visit on Monday, April 11th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A 851 Annapolis Road. Gambrills, MD 21054. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 12th at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave, Millersville, MD 21108, where the interment will follow in the church cemetery.
