Karen Cronk Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 11, 2022.
Karen left Victoria, BC to join her dear husband Arthur who passed away in 2015. Karen and Art met at a dance in Alberta, were married and moved to southern Ontario where they spent the next 50 years raising a family. In 2016 Karen returned to western Canada and settled in Victoria, BC.
Karen was raised on a farm near Innisfail, AB where she participated in farming activities, basketball and baseball where she earned the nickname "Slugger".
When she was 17 she moved to Edmonton and went to Secretarial School which ensured a job with the Alberta Government and the University of Alberta.
In Ontario she was very active socially with her church, soccer, basketball, and her kids' activities. Once her kids were older she worked for a short time in retail where she managed a gift store.
Karen will be missed by many family members including her children Kathleen (John), Diane and David. sisters and brothers; George Pennock, Ann & Arnold Berry, Steven & Ellen Pennock and Jacqui & Stephen Turner and many others.
The family celebrated her life with a private quiet ceremony on Vancouver Island British Columbia on Saturday Nov 13, 2021. Karen spent much of her time volunteering and devoting time to faith at St. James United Church, Peterborough; expressions of sympathy can be made to the United Church Women's Fund at the Church.
