Karen truly was a "mother'to all the girls;she always showed compassion and genuine care for them,lending an attentive ear,making their "woes",her own,and never judging them,sending them off to class with a kind pat on the back.

Caring and kindness was all she was.
As busy as her "switchboard" was,when you passed by her office,she always greeted you with a warm smile and hello.
She made a difference in all of the girls' daily routine.

Nothing was ever to big or too small a problem. She was gracious, wise, the epitome of a solid citizen and a fine human being. She enriched the life of ECS for me and my daughter by being Karen and by loving life and sharing that passion with all of us. Karen, I wish I could have said goodbye to you. Thank you for being the heart and soul of ECS for me and my two daughters. You were a rock at the front desk, able and willing to help anyone and everyone, or ready for an intimate conversation. Karen because you cared so much, we cared for you very much. Condolences to the Di Filippo and O'Connor families, and to all of her friends and colleagues. We have lost a beautiful soul in Karen.
