Karen Drexler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 17, 2022.
Karen Drexler, age 75 of Silver Cliff, WI., formerly of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday May 12, 2022 at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay WI. She was born in Oshkosh on June 22, 1946 the daughter of the late Carl and Kathryn Yost Anderson. Karen married Michael J. Drexler on November 1, 1969 in Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Until the time of her retirement Karen was employed as a Fiscal Clerk for the State of Wisconsin's Department of Corrections.

Karen and Mike realized their dream in retirement when they built their cabin in the woods.  She loved the peace and quiet of the Northwoods and the sound of the Peshtigo River running in front of the cabin, watching the many, many kayaks go by.  One of her favorite things to do was sit and watch and feed her animals, especially her many, many deer that waited every night for Mike to feed them.  They called the deer "her kids".  She also enjoyed riding the 4 wheelers and UTV on the trails with family and friends.  She and Mike spent their evenings enjoying old movies on TV and the occasional fish fry at a local tavern.

She loved to cook and have the family over for the holidays when they lived in town.  She liked to go and listen to live bands and dance the night away, spending time with friends.   She was always so proud of her kids and grandkids and enjoyed when they would come to visit.

Karen is survived by her husband; Michael J. Drexler of Athelstane WI., two daughters; Shelley (Keith) Bronold, Appleton, Jennifer (Robert Stookey) Drexler, Oshkosh, one son; Michael A. (Amber) Drexler, Oshkosh, seven grandchildren; Todd (Tate) Bronold, Kimberly (David Parewski) Bronold, Joseph (Mallory Wohlt) Lassiter, Kelsiee Lassiter, McKenziee (Tyler Resop) Gonia, Allie Galligan, and Zoey Drexler, nine great-grandchildren;  Olivia, Carter, Theodora, Jerryn, Aiden, Sawyer, Winston, Charlotte, and Jordynn; two sisters; Connie (Tim) Wolf, Oshkosh, and Carla (John) DuPrey, Oshkosh, and sisters in-law Sally (Harold) Brown and Mary Anderson, Oshkosh. Karen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Elsie (Morasch) Drexler and father-in-law John A. Drexler, and two brothers; John C. Anderson, and Charles E. Anderson.
