To all of the Barkschat Family: My thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though we haven't spent any real time together in years, I only have fond memories of our close family ties. It breaks my heart to know that Karen has passed on and joined your Mom, but I am glad her long struggle is over. We had such fun as kids and those memories will always make me smile! My favorite is the first time that I met Karen & Keith. I had a nice sized playhouse in my yard. I went out to play and was totally shocked to find these two unknown kids sitting in my house, at my table, playing with my dishes!! Well, after the initial shock wore off, we became fast friends and spent so much time together. We walked into each others houses without knocking because we were family. We stood on the back corner fence between our housed to reach the plums in the tree. We slept out on our front porches and had so many sleepovers. We double dated in our teens. Karen was a year older than me and I trusted her like a big sister. She was such a special person in my life and I am sad to know that she is not here anymore. I am so sorry that I cannot make the memorial at that time, but I will be thinking of Karen and all of you with love. Bobbi
