Karen Louise Hunter

Karen Louise Hunter, 79, of Douglasville, Georgia and Cashiers, North Carolina, passed away on June 24, 2024. She was born on February 21, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. Karen dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, always putting their needs above her own. Karen was a woman of simple pleasures and cherished moments. Her interests included antiques, Yorkshire Terriers, her house in the North Carolina mountains, and most of all, spending quality time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She had a heart full of love that she generously shared with those closest to her. Karen is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Gertrude DeMann, and her sister Millie Clarke. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Hunter, her son Justin (Sarah) Hunter, her grandchildren Haylee Hunter and Lilly Hunter, her sister Arlene Johnson, extended family, and friends. Services to honor and remember Karen will be held at a future date to be determined. In the meantime, let us hold dear the memories of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Karen's presence will be deeply missed, but her love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
