I heard of Karen's passing today and I am truly saddened by the news. I met Karen when I was at Auburn University. She was a true good person with the ability to make you laugh and to let you know that she really cared about you as a person. I can only say that the world is a sadder place without her.

As you all surely know Karen was a wonderful person and always made you feel better about yourself whenever she was near. Her joy of life was contagious. I knew Karen at Auburn University and in Atlanta and am proud to have known her. My thoughts and prayers to all those who loved her (I know there were many). God's love be with you all as she will be missed.

A kind, uplifting individual during her days at Vincennes Lincoln High School. Her smile, I can remember, to this day, some 30 years later. Many days in the classroom with her. Prayers to the family.

My deepest sympathy to your family. Karen was a good friend of mine in high school. She was very kind, was always quick to laugh and very witty and smart. Her smile was contagious. She made all around her happier just by her sparkle in her eyes and big smile. Of course her accent made get even more special. Prayers for all.

We are so sorry to hear of Karen's death! And very sorry that we weren't able to make it home for the funeral. She was always so loving, caring and kind! She will always have a special place in my heart because she was my grandmother's nurse when we had to travel to Emory Univ. in Georgia, for her open heart surgery. She was so caring, kind and wonderful to my entire family, while we were there, but she was always like that. Jimmy was a very close friend to all the Leppert's growing up and is so sad to have lost another friend! Karen was truly beautiful inside and out and had a heart of gold! She will be missed by many! Jimmy and I are sending our love to you all and are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Love to you all,
Jimmy and Janet Hughes
