Karen McCracken Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 22, 2014.
If a loved one has departed
And left an empty space,
Seek the inner stillness;
Set a slower pace.

Take time to remember;
Allow yourself to cry.
Acknowledge your emotions;
Let sadness pass on by.

Then center in the oneness,
Remember…God is here.
Death is but a change in form;
Your loved one is still near.
Treat yourself with Kindness;
Allow yourself to feel,
God will do the mending,
And time will help you heal.

Rob, I'm thinking of you today --- I miss my friend Karen so much. Loved her to pieces. I continually see gifts from her in my home. Please let Steph & Mike know I'm thinking of them, also. And Karen's grandchildren. They were so special to her. Hoping you're doing OK. Love from Bobbie

I met Karen in 1978 at the Sweet Home office of Pacific Power. She was transferring to the Albany office -- I took her place in Sweet Home. We lived in the same apartment complex on 23rd Ave. We continued to be close friends from then on ... Rob, I miss knowing she'll not be staying with me in the summer --- not receiving my annual Hawaiian calendar -- the "Forever Florals" perfume -- the home made greeting cards she sent me -- being happy when together -- going shopping for her grandchildren -- planning trips together -- she coming to stay with me last year when my mother passed away and her beautiful smile! We laughed allot -- danced around the house. There's so many wonderful memories of my very special friend Karen. I'll never, ever forget her. Steph & Mike - I'm thinking of you, too! Love ya all! from Bobbie

Rob, Karen and I worked together in Dallas. She was such a vivacious person and a little naive. As some of the other messages state, she was a joy to be around. I am truly sorry for your loss.

It's another day at work and my friend is not here, as I pass by her window all I see is an empty chair.
I look down the hallway but no one is there, and listen for her laughter but only silence I hear.
I realize then it's the first of many days at work when my friend is not here.

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family always.

Karen was always a ray of sunshine. I'm sorry for your loss. I worked with Karen as a service coordinator in Albany. I only knew Karen for a few years, but every time she would come over to the WOC office, she was always smiling. Karen had a caring heart and never seemed to have anything bad to say about anyone. She will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with the family through this time.

We are very sad to hear of your loss. I'd been friends with Karen at work for a lot of years, and the last 5 years up until my retirement she was our service coordinator at the Montgomery Street office. It is hard to put into words how much we miss her.

I worked with Karen at PacifiCorp (She in Albany and me in Portland) and she was always so helpful and friendly. I always looked forward to our annual meetings when we could hang out together. She was a dear, sweet lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

I always enjoyed seeing Karen at the family gatherings. It was obvious she poured her heart out to her family and loved the role of wife, parent and grandmother. We sometimes talked about crafty things, like rubberstamping. She lives on in the hearts of her family. Our love to you all. ~ Angela and Vince
