Kurt Benjamin Koffler

YORKTOWN - Kurt Benjamin Koffler, 33, Yorktown, Va., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Senetara Careplex, Hampton, Va. He was born on Feb. 20, 1970, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of Kurt Koffler and Linda (McDaniel )Thomas, and stepson of Tyrone Thomas . Ben was a chef at Harpoon Larry's in Hampton, Va. He played football for Topeka High School, where he graduated in 1988. He was a champion Monoply player in local tournaments. Ben is survived by his wife, Wendy Bowyer Koffler; a daughter, Kailee Denise, Koffler, Yorktown, Va. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Cadie Koffler, a brother, Gus Koffler, and three stepsisters; grandparents Clarence and Maxine McDaniel, all of Topeka; and grandfather, Carl Koffler of Fayetteville, Ark.. Ben was preceded in death by grandmother, Constance L. Koffler. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at the University United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memoria l contributions be made to the Kailee Koffler Education Fund at the Educational Credit Union, 2808 S.W. Arrowhead, Topeka, 66614.
