Karen Sheridan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 18, 2025.
Karen Ann Sheridan (née Cutler), of Vernon, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 7, 1953, in Manchester, Connecticut, Karen lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family and a warm presence that touched all who knew her.

Karen was the beloved wife of Thomas Sheridan. Their marriage of 51 years was a rare and enduring partnership built on love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Together they raised two children-Shaun Sheridan and younger sister Jennifer Doherty-instilling in them strength, compassion, and a deep appreciation for family.

Karen found immense joy in being a grandmother to Fiona Doherty, age seven. The bond she shared with Fiona was truly special; their time together brought Karen endless happiness and created cherished memories that will live on in Fiona's heart.

Professionally, Karen worked as a bookkeeper for Bestech, a family-owned office in Ellington, Connecticut. She was deeply appreciated by everyone she worked with for her dedication and kind spirit. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism but also for the warmth she brought into the workplace.

Karen had many passions that enriched her life. She loved going on vacations with her family, finding joy in shared adventures and quiet moments alike. A devoted animal lover and avid reader, she also enjoyed shopping trips-especially those that included time spent with her granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Sheridan; son Shaun Sheridan and his wife Jennifer; daughter Jennifer Doherty and her husband Bryan; granddaughter Fiona Doherty; and brother Bruce Cutler. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Georgianna Cutler.

Karen's legacy is one of love-steadfast love for her husband of over five decades, nurturing love for her children, and joyful love for her granddaughter. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 21, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM at The Rocking Horse 57 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT

Karen and I work together for over three decades. Over the years her and I became very good friends and very close. We always seem to know what the other one was going to do or say most of the time. "We always" had each other`s back, that´s not to say we always agreed on some things, but when push came to shove, we were there for each other. She was a great warm hearted person, We will truly miss her. Our hearts and prayers go out to her entire family, with our deepest condolences.
