Karie Joest

Karie Bovee Joest, born on March 13, 1962, in Bakersfield, California, passed away after a 15 month battle of brain cancer on January 21, 2025, in Visalia, California, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 62 years old.

Karie spent over five decades in the Visalia and Fresno area, where she built a life. A proud graduate of Mt. Whitney High School, she completed her studies in 1980 and often reflected on her time there.

She was the daughter of Karlene and David A. Bovee. Karie's had 3 beautiful daughters Kristine Crothers, Sharie Joest, and Shanna Ezelle. She also was a devoted grandmother to Austin Pierce-Joest, Hollie Herndon, and Peyton Ezelle. Karie also found companionship in her cherished German Shepherds Jackson, Kodi, and Princess, whom all were rescues.

Karie is also survived by her siblings Michele, Kim, Ron, and Jennifer and many nieces and nephews.

Karie's deep love for animals reflected her compassionate spirit and left a lasting impression on those who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who were touched by her kindness.

A private celebration of life will be schedule at a later date. In lieu of, flowers or donations Karie family asks that you donate to your local animal rescue in her name!
