Karl Bauch Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2025.
Karl Paul Bauch, 74, of Waxhaw, NC (formerly of Windsor and Ellington, CT), died peacefully on May 21, 2025 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

The son of the late Paul Bauch and Catherine (Privitera) Bauch, Karl grew up in the Deerfield section of Windsor. After serving his country in Vietnam, he returned to Windsor to buy a house with his wife and raise their children. Karl had a long career in the aerospace industry with United Technologies Pratt & Whitney Aircraft located in Southington, and later Middletown, CT, before retiring to the Carolinas. Moving south in retirement did not change his New England sports allegiances, and he remained a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball and UCONN basketball teams. An avid outdoorsman, Karl enjoyed hunting, and both freshwater and saltwater fishing. One of his favorite pastimes was to fish for shad on the Farmington and Connecticut rivers. Karl will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor and his genuine, unpretentious approach to life.

Karl is survived by his devoted wife Marilyn Bauch; daughter Angela Lawrence and her husband Bill of Waxhaw, NC; son Eric Bauch and his wife Carolyn of Ellington, CT; son Christopher Bauch and his wife Elizabeth of Coventry, CT; grandchildren Jennifer, Joseph, Luke, Chelsea, Emily, Blake, Alana, Cliff and Julie. Karl is also survived by his sister Joanna Bean, sister-in-law JoAnne Hickey and her husband Herb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law Bill Bean.

A private memorial service for Karl was held in accordance with his wishes.
