BLANK Mr. Karl C. Blank, age 70 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center. Karl was born May 3, 1938, in Cedar City, Mo., the son of Marvin M. and Clara S. Kretchmar Blank, both deceased. He was married on February 1, 1958, in New Bloomfield, Mo. to Judith A. Haulenbeek who survives at the home. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Karl was a 1956 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was employed with Artcraft Press in Columbia for 12 years. He was later employed as an engineer with Sprint for 27 years until his retirement in 1997. Karl was a former member of Cedar City Methodist Church and currently attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a member of the Senior Center in Ashland, Mo. He lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, wood working, fishing, playing pool at the Senior Center, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also a supporter of Southern Boone High School and Jefferson City High School athletics. Other survivors include: one daughter, Theresa Johnson and her husband Dale of Holts Summit, Mo.; two sons, Mitchell Blank and his wife Kathy of Hartsburg, Mo., and Michael Blank and his wife Penny of Hartsburg, Mo.; two brothers, Doug Blank and his wife Judy of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Richard "Dickie" Blank and his wife Glenda of Dinwiddie, South Carolina; four grandchildren: Courtney Johnson, Haley Johnson, Phillip Blank, and Andrew Blank; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Blank, Gene "Squeaks" Blank, and Darryl Blank. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Michael Quinn officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boone County, Mo. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. I just received the saddest news of Karl's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Karl and being at your home and all the running back and forth down Mt. Pleasant Road with Mitch, Mike and Theresa. I truly believe he was one of the best. God bless you all.

I just saw Karl's obit. I am so very sorry! I just put his hummingbird that he made for me out on the porch and was wondering how you both were doing. He will be missed.
