Karl Jackle Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post from Nov. 26 to Nov. 28, 2011.
Karl Jackle Karl passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Gertrud (Stoltz); son, Rodney (Nandini, grandchildren, Anya and Aman); daughter, Erika (Charles, grandchildren, Drew and Lindsay); brother, Edwin (Marlene); sisters, Elfrieda (Joe) Chay, Wilma (Ed) Koffler; sister in law, Yvonne Jackle and numerous nieces and nephews. Karl was predeceased by his brother, Ozwald. Karl was born on January 4, 1930 in Romania to Otillie and Karl. He emigrated as a young man from Germany to make Regina his home in 1948, where he met and married Gertrud and began their family together. Karl was trained as an electrician and worked for Stettner Electric where he worked for 25 years until illness and disability forced an early retirement. Strong personal determination along with the support of his wife and Regina's medical community helped him meet his many medical challenges. Karl was a longtime member of the German Club and German Mardi Gras. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, working in his yard, following Canadian politics, cheering for the Roughriders and his daily coffee row. Special thanks to the staffs of Regina's hospitals and Wascana Rehab, in particular those involved with the home TPN program and Dr. McHattie, Dr. Bester and Shirley. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Central Lutheran Church, 2625 12th Ave., Regina, SK. Donations in memory of Karl may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada or a charity of one's choice. Messages of condolences may be signed on www.remembering.ca . Sincere sympathy in the loss of Karl. I got to know him at Mullin's Hardware when I worked there in the early 90's. He was one of a kind. May your memories be good.
