Karl F. Vollbrecht Karl F. Vollbrecht, 92, of 8636 W. Lake Rd. in Lake City, Pa., died Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. He was born February 2, 1914 in Erie, the son of the late Charles and Hanna Nelson Vollbrecht. Karl was a 1933 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, a member of East Erie Turners, the Erie Sportsman Club, and was an avid bowler for over 55 years He was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Erie. He was employed as a maintenance man at the YMCA for 15 years and he worked as a painting and remodeling contractor, while also working as a grape farmer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ken and Edward Vollbrecht. Karl is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mitchell Vollbrecht; three sons: Arnold F. Vollbrecht and his wife, Rosemary, of Millcreek, Bruce K. Vollbrecht and his wife, Phyllis, of Girard, and Warren K. Vollbrecht and his wife, Diane, of Lake City; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. David Mumford officiating.
