Karlane Kraner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 3, 2017.
Karlane S. Kraner, 50 , passed peacefully at her home, Wednesday, November 1st, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Karlane was born Feb 11th, 1967 and was a lifelong member of the Pittsburg and Frontenac community, graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1985. She attended some college and worked at local businesses, including Tyrell's, before she found her true passion in her job at SEK Humane Society, where she was employed the last 8 years. She was promoted to Animal Welfare Director in 2016 and has been instrumental in finding homes for hundreds of cats and dogs in need. Karlane has been an advocate for animals her entire life, sharing many memorable rescue stories, including jumping into a frozen pond last winter to save a scared, drowning dog, whom she later found the perfect home for.
Karlane has also helped provide care for her ailing mother in recent years, and is best described by those who know her as having "the biggest heart".
Karlane is survived by her mother, Marlane Williams, step father, Steve Groner, sister, Kimberly Kraner - Stark & husband, Rob Stark, brother, Andy Kraner and wife, Ginger Kraner, nieces, Amanda & husband Ben Carrier, Jessica & Guillermo Rojo, Melanie Stark, and Sam Kraner, a nephew, Ethan Kraner, her beloved dogs Star, Trixie and Megan and her cat, Mama Kitty. She was blessed with 8 great nieces and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with, very much. Landon, Makenzie, Silas, and Audriana Carrier, Kingston and Alyvia Stark, and Cruz and Vanessa Rojo. She is also survived by many cousins, a plethora of friends, the animal rescue community and her SEK Humane Society family.
"To know one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, November 7th, at SEK Humane Society, 485 E. 560th Ave, at 3:30 pm. Pastor Marcee Binder will officiate and a memorial will be erected at SEK Humane Society.
In lieu of flowers, Karlane's family suggests donations be made to the Karlane Kraner Memorial Fund at SEK Humane Society.

Tails are wagging and all of our fur babies are jumping with joy since your arrival at "The Bridge". I am deeply saddened by your loss but know you must of been needed there. An angel to the animals forever and now truly flying as one. Rest in peace.
