Mr. Darryl Dantzler

DANTZLER, Darryl - Age 68, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center.
Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, March 24, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Dantzler will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Darryl Dantzler Sr. was born February 25, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Evelyn Jones and Lucious Dantzler. Darryl was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Northwestern High School. He went on to join the United States Marines. Darryl was employed as a Independent Contractor Truck Driver. He loved to fish, tell stories and watch westerns. Darryl also loved to spend time with family and friends. He would always help whenever someone needed him. Mr. Darryl Dantzler Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Ariel Dantzler of Flint; 5 sons, Darryl Dantzler of Memphis, TN, Mario Dantzler of Milwaukee, WI, Adrian Alexander of Saginaw, MI, Julian Dantzler of Vancouver, WA and Nicholas Dantzler of Memphis, TN; 19 grandchildren; step-father, AlCurtis Jones Sr. 4 sisters, Deborah Blount, Ondria Winfield, both of Houston, TX, Kim Smith of Phoenix, AZ and Lateisha Heard; 3 brothers, AlCurtis Jones Jr., Ricky Jones and Brian Jones, all of Memphis, TN; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Buttons, Ed Hornaday, Sonny Moore and Raymond Dorsey. Mr. Dantzler was preceded in death by his father, Lucious Dantzler; mother, Evelyn Jones; brother, Lashawn Jones; and sister, Jacqueline Dantzler.
