Dear Lori and Shanon,

It's been many years since we last spoke, and a few since this terrible tragedy I just happened upon on the internet. I was looking for you guys on Facebook. I cannot believe my eyes! I am so sorry about your loss. Kate was one of Audrie's very first friends...and a dear one at that. There are so many things I remember about her, and how much both of you loved her. She was truly a spitfire! I am stunned at this news, and sad, sad, sad!

I know there's nothing I can say to make things better, but just know you're in my thoughts and prayers, and I wish I knew how to help.

Sincerely,

Melissa Allen

Dear Aunt Lori and Uncle Shanon,
I just wanted you to know that I had a dream last night.... Kate was sitting next to God, whispering in his ear, and they both had a smile on their faces. I woke up smiling myself. As much as we are missing her right now I take comfort in knowing that she will be celebrating Jesus's birthday by his side this year. She was a light that will shine on FOREVER.
I love you all.

They say God works in mysterious ways but there is clearly no more mysterious way than when He takes a loved one from us and brings them home early to His arms. It is a tragedy for her family to lose her. We were so sorry to receive the note with her obituary. Our hearts and prayers go out to Lori, Shanon and the family.

You do not know me but no one knows just how painful it is to loose a child unless one has experienced that tragedy for themselves. I too lost my beautiful 22 yr. old daughter just 4 months ago. I still have a hard time believing it's true. Everyday I get up to live the nightmare over again but with the support of my family and friends I will get through this. It sounds like you have a very good support system and you will make it through too. From one grieving mother to another, just know you are not alone.

I did not know Kate, but I can tell from this guest book that she was very special. I, too, went to school with Lori at St. Agnes. There is no bond greater than that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. I pray that God gives you and your family strength and courage during this tragic time.

Dear, Sweet Disorbo Family,
Please know that Kate will never be forgotten. What a spirit that child had. Though I didn't know her as well as the other girls at Katie's party, she made her presence known without any delay.

I so dreaded the first rain as it might change the accident sight. It came, but the impression of zest for life and love for the Lord that your child showed will never be forgotten. One day we should get together and visit. I know Katie had the stregnth, but I am not there, yet. John and I pray for you daily and will do all that we can to keep the precious and vivacious memory of Kate alive.
Love to your entire family eternally,
Christy Selman

To the DiSorbo Family:
I do not know any of you, but I was moved by your loss and wanted to express some words of comfort. During times like this, the Bible can be such a source of strength and hope. God promises at Revelation 21:3-5 that he will soon wipe away all tears from our eyes, and death will be no more on this earth. What a wonderful time that will be! And at John 5:28, 29 He promises a resurrection so you can see Kate again. Other scriptures show that this will be on a cleansed, beautiful earth, just the way He originally intended when he first made the earth but before sin took place. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about what the Bible says about this. My deepest sympathy goes to all of you.

My heart goes out to the family and friends. I have a daughter that goes to KHS and she knew who Kate was. Once I heard about the accident my heart just crumbled inside. So young. May God give you faith and peace.

You do not know me, but I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to the DiSorbo family. There is no greater pain than the loss of a child. I too suffer having lost a child myself and my heart breaks everytime I hear of another loss of a child. I have been praying for the family and if you can take comfort in anything, know that our Blessed Mother in heaven has Kate in her loving arms and will hold her until you get there. Yes, you will see Kate again just as God has promised. Only God can strengthen you, lean on Him through your painful journey. Kate is in God's care now, but our love has no boundaries.
Kate will always live on through your memories and your heart.
May you feel God's blessings all the days of your lives.

With love, another Mother with a pierced heart and a St. Martha parishioner

To Dear Lori,

For a mother, there is no pain to compare with the loss of a daughter, and only those who have known such a tragedy can truly understand the sorrow and emptiness you feel. I lost my baby girl two years ago when she was just 22. My heart understands and aches for you and your family.

Though words may be meaningless right now, may you find some comfort in the love and concern that surround you from so many who deeply care. Let your friends and family carry you through this time until you are strong enough to only need to lean on them.

In Deepest Sympathy,
A mom who grieves with you

To the loving family of Miss Kate,
Kate brought so much love and energy to our Kingwood community. Her beautiful soul and warm heart are etched indelibly in all of us who were so blessed to have met Kate. Our memories of Kate, from Riverwood Middle School to Kingwood High School will not fade, but only brighten in time. Her footprint is cemented in our lives.
We can only imagine your pain, as paralyzing as it must be, because we have never experienced such horrendous pain and sorrow ourselves.
My God surround you all with His love and healing,
