Nana Kate was a vibrant, delightful woman with a big heart. Whenever I think of her, I remember her active lifestyle, and a keen interest in plethora of activities, family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, a unique sense of style and quick mind are a few of the characteristics I enjoyed about her. Most refreshing were her memories of my husband; her grandson Jonathan. It was endearing to hear her entertain me with stories about his life, and all the support and admiration she felt toward him. I feel lucky to have known this wonderful woman who gave me invaluable gifts that endure in my heart.

I did not know Kate, but I too am a Phi Sigma Sigma alum from the University of Illinois and I have known Kate's name for many years given her connection to the early years of our beloved Theta chapter at UIUC (founded in 1923).

My heartfelt sympathies to Harold and the other members of Kate's family.

I am a Phi Sigma Sigma alum from the University of Illinois and we think there's a good chance that Kate is a founding member of our chapter.

We express our heartfelt sympathies to your family on her passing.
