Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Katherine M. Bayless, age 57, of Marietta, GA died Tuesday, June 27, 2006. A native of Yonkers, New York, Kathy moved to Marietta from Bloomington, Indiana in 1983. Kathy helped her husband in founding Fastpak Systems, Inc., where she served as operations manager until her retirement. An incredible communicator, Kathy was an "amateur therapist" to her family and friends, who will miss "Q.B." forever. She is survived by her husband, Hal Bayless; her daughter, Kristin Bayless Hammersmith of Atlanta; her mother, Helen Mercurio of Dallas, GA; her sisters, Rose Marie Carnes of Annapolis, MD and Theresa A. McMullin of Cosby, TN; her brothers, William C. Mercurio of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and John A. Mercurio of Dallas, GA and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at Patterson's Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta. Mr. Steve Lane will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
