Katherine "Kathy" Ann Schelcher Finch

Katherine "Kathy" Ann Schelcher Finch died on January 26, 2020 at the age of 83 years. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Francis Schelcher and Elsa Margaret Kurre Shelcher, and by three of her children: Betty Finch, Jimmy Finch and Billy Finch. Kathy was a full time stay-at-home mom of six children until she re-entered the workforce in 1972. Most of her years were spent working at a large insurance company from which she retired in 2002. Kathy was known for her perpetual smile and friendly manner, and also for her quiet grace. She always put her family first and worked very hard to raise her six children. She was fun-loving and enjoyed hosting frequent family gatherings, where her children and grandchildren would gather at her tiny house and celebrate anything from holidays and birthdays to good barbecue weather. Once Kathy reached retirement age she spent much of her free time with her grandchildren, enduring countless games of Candyland and Uno, making trips to the zoo and ensuring she had done everything she possibly could to spoil them before returning them to their parents. Kathy is survived by her loving children, Margie Taylor (Don), Tom Finch III (Debbie), and Terrie Parsons; by her grandchildren, Kris Hawxhurst (Nicole), Jennifer Hawxhurst Foerch (Joe), Steven Rivera, Bryn Herrera, Brianne Snider (Zach), Matthew Finch and Jacob Finch; and one great-grandchild Emmalie Rivera. She is also survived by her sister, Dorice Nell Staudt; nephews, Eddie Staudt (Peggy) and David Staudt, and by her niece, Diane Ramsey (James). Funeral Services will be held at Porter Loring North Mortuary on February 4, 2020 at 10:00 am, followed by a burial at San Fernando 3 cemetery.
