Katherryn Jean Obituary
She was born on October 24, 1924 in Pottsville, PA, moving to Harrisburg in 1946.
Formerly employed by Capital Blue Cross, Retail Credit and Pomeroy's Department Store. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for WITF and her church, St. Catherine Laboure. An avid sports fan she loved watching tennis, the Phillies, NY Giants and Boston Celtics. She enjoyed bowling and at one time belonged to three clubs at once. She was often referred to as "the Social Director", planning and participating in bus trips to NYC, Washington DC and other cities. She enjoyed traveling and was thrilled to visit her homeland, Ireland.
She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, aunt, grand and great-grand mother, and friend. She touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.
She was an avid reader, former Red Hat member and enjoyed playing cards and coordinating high teas at the Rutherford House.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Jean) Olson, her husband, Kenneth Olson of Harrisburg, her grandson Matthew Olson, his partner Cherie and their children Julia and Evin; her daughter Kathleen (Jean) Shepp and grandson Joseph O'Neil, a niece, several nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Regina Euker and Rita Cooper and a brother Vincent McGurl.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St Catherine Laboure Church 4020 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Burial services will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg, at the convenience of the family.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Arthritis National Research Foundation 200 Oceangate, Suite 830 Long Beach, CA 90802, or St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325 or at www.stjo.org.

Margaret and family,
Please accept my sincerest condolences in the loss of such a wonderful mother. I will always remember her fondly - she always brightened up my day at the office. I will miss seeing her, but know she is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Katherryn was the life of the party at old Blue Cross functions! She was our "bus mom"on the NY bus trips making sure we had cheese and crackers and other snacks for our adult beverages. I will never forget her sweet, happy spirit. I pray God's comfort for you in the days ahead. God bless you!

Kathy & Margaret, Sorry to hear about Ms. Katie. She was a great devoted mother. I will never forget the love she showed me while I was employeed at CPCC. I will never forget her. She was a very special Lady.

Dear Margaret and Kathleen, words cannot express, what a beautiful mother you had. I worked with her at capital blue cross for quite a long time. she was the same person everyday. She greeted you with a smile and a GOOD MORNING. I missed her at the monthly breakfast we had for the retirees for our unit,after her health was not too good. Please know she is in a better place. I miss her already.
