Kathie Castro Obituary
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Robert; her daughters, Lisa (Bryan) and Kim (John); her cherished grandchildren, Mandi, Danielle, and Alexis; and her great-grandchildren, Raymond and Landon. Kathie is also survived by four sisters and two brothers and was preceded in death by her beloved eldest sister.
Kathie enjoyed a long and dedicated career with the Temple City Unified School District, spending the last 20 years of her employment as the Media Specialist at Oak Avenue Intermediate School. Following her retirement, she continued to serve her community by volunteering at the Pasadena Library and with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
A lifelong lover of books and puzzles, Kathie also had a special place in her heart for her dogs. She was quick-witted, strong-willed, and always carried a kind heart, a beautiful smile, and a sparkle in her eyes.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Aunt Kathie: My memories of you are when you saved me in elementary from some woman that was trying to take me away, and my Aunt Kathie went after her and grabbed me out of her hands and told her to leave me alone, that she was my aunt. I use to visit her in the Library when she was at Oak Ave. I would go in and talk with her and she would give me some advice or thoughts for the day that I needed and then I would go back to class. When my dad was very sick, she came to our house and told me to get in the car, and she took me to go get groceries for my family. Aunt Kathie taught me it is better to keep up than catch up, she inspired me to take one class at a time and not give up. Uncle Bob and Kathie shared with me that it was important to pay that extra house payment a year. They also inspired me to go to Ireland, which took me all the way until this year! Irish Blessings to Aunt Kathie, Bob, and their family. She is rejoicing with her sisters and loved ones that passed before.
