Kathy was a lovely lady. We use to work together at the school and would keep in touch twice a year. Sometimes I would see her at Sams club and she would joke that when she retired that we could meet for coffee. She was always busy. I tried to reach out to her awhile ago and had no response. I would still look for her when I shopped. She is missed.

I had not called Kathy for a year or so because my husband was very ill. I tried to call today and her phone number went to a business. I looked on the Internet and found her obituary. I am very saddened and so sorry I didn't call her last summer. We worked together at the Health Department, PDW/WM, for several years and were very good "work friends" then. We talked and exchanged cards for a while after I retired on 2014. I was very upset when she got her diagnosis. Kathy was genuinely one of the best people I ever knew. She was always helping her parents, then her brother through his long illness. She still thought of others even when it was getting hard for her to breathe. She loved her birds and was sorry when she couldn't keep them any more. She would light up at work when she talked about her little dogs. She was a warm, caring person as long as I knew her. If there is a heaven, she is in it. I send belated condolences to her family and everyone that loved her. Sincerely, Patti Higgins
