Kathleen Frank Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 30, 2023.
Kathleen A. "Kathy" Frank

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Kathleen A. "Kathy" Frank, who departed this life on May 29, 2023. Born on December 31, 1946, Kathy brought joy and warmth to her family and many friends. In passing, she is now reunited with her parents, Helen and William "Bill" Joyce, and her dear sister, Patricia "Patty" Joyce. She is survived by her daughter Bridget, son Paul and his wife Colleen, and grandsons Connor and Ryan. Additionally, Kathy is survived by her cousin Mary and her children, as well as lifelong friends Marilyn and Don Jenkins and their children.

Kathy had a big heart and she faced life's challenges with feisty resilience, including defeating breast cancer twice. Her children Paul and Bridget were the center of her world. In a testament to her unwavering devotion, Kathy moved from Myrtle Beach back to Maryland to donate a kidney to her daughter, Bridget. This ultimate act of maternal love was a clear demonstration of her selfless and nurturing nature.

Her legacy extends beyond her immediate family, for Kathy touched many lives. She was a caring neighbor, a steadfast friend, and an engaged member of her community. To many, she was an unwavering pillar of support. Her spirit has left an indelible mark on the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Kathy took great joy in connecting with people, preferably at the beach or having breakfast at a diner with a warm cup of tea. While we mourn our loss, we also celebrate the life she lived and the lives she touched. Kathy's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In response to her wishes for her remains to be buried at sea, a private memorial service for immediate family will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathy's memory to either the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidneymd.org) or the Susan G. Komen organization (www.komen.org).

Beautiful kind Kathy, no more aches and pains, no more suffering. Watch over Bridget and let her know how close you still are. I know you'll never leave her side or stop supporting her but now in an even more powerful and initimate way. You are loved and will be deeply missed down here. Please Lord, welcome Kathy into the light of Your face.
