On February 11, 2021 Kathleen Frasco of Garden Ridge, TX. passed away suddenly at the age of 75. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Known to all who knew and loved her as Kathy, she met the love of her life, Anthony (“Tony”) when she was 15 years old. Since then, they were inseparable until her passing.
Kathy was born on October 25, 1945 in Teaneck, NJ to Leonard and Margaret (Heaney) Freligh. She attended St. Andrew’s elementary school in Westwood, NJ, and a 1963 graduate of Pascack Valley High School in Hillsdale, NJ. She and Tony married in 1964, and they resided in Westwood, NJ where they raised their daughter, Julie. While she resided in Westwood, she worked with Tony in his plumbing and construction business, was active in local politics, researched generations of her family tree, collected antiques, and was an accomplished gardener.
Kathy and Tony retired to Garden Ridge, TX in 2011 where they were active together in their community. Kathy loved all animals and was an active member of Advocates for Garden Ridge Wildlife as an opponent to the deer euthanization project in Garden Ridge, actively protecting the deer population in her community. Her love for animals made her act whenever she saw a stray or lost animal. Whether it was stopping on the side of the road to bring them to safety, or giving food and safety to the stray cats who showed up on their doorstep. She loved music, travel, and was well-read on all politics, news and history. Her gardening continued in Garden Ridge where they planted and tended to beautiful flowers and plants.
Kathy loved her family, her beloved dog Trixie, and spending every day with Tony who was the love of her life. She is survived by her loving family: Tony, her best friend, and loving, devoted husband of 56 years; loving daughter Julie Kieffer and son-in-law Don of Bernardsville, NJ; and loving granddaughter, Madeline Kieffer, of Saluda, VA. She touched more people than she ever realized. Kathy was predeceased by her parents and sister, Barbara Berruti.
The family will receive visitors at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home, New Braunfels from 2-6pm on February 22, 2021. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery on February 23, 2021 at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Kathy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A beautiful woman who was blessed to share her life with the love of her life, Tony, for so many years, and was a beloved mom and grandmother as well. I am so lucky to know her lovely daughter, Julie, and her dear granddaughter, Maddy. Kathy's legacy is secure in these kind, smart souls, who carry on and honor Kathy. (Both J and M are animal lovers, Kathy had influence for sure.) My deepest condolences to Tony, Julie, Don, Maddy and all who counted her as dear friend and beloved family.

As a PVRHS 1963 alumni, I have a soft spot in my heart for all. I did not know Kathy all that well other than she was a nice person. Judging from the lovely obit and comments she followed that spirt throughout her life. My condolence to all. May she rest in peace.

Nothing can express the sorrow of losing one's mother. A mother gives us life, raises us to what we are today, and serves always as the center of family. Mom's loss is the loss of that center. But as the Bible tells us, I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. God bless you mom, and all our family.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31
Dear Mom,
I miss you so much. Your smile is beautiful and your laugh brightened your eyes. I know you’re in God’s loving hands in Heaven where your smile shines on us left behind. I promise to take care of Daddy and Trixie.
I am sad and wish I could hug you, but I see you in Maddie and that makes me smile.
Until we meet again - I love you very much.
Love Always,
Julie

Kathy and I attended PVRHS together and shared many friendships over the years. I missed my chance to go on our 40th birthday holiday cruise as I was unavailable at the time, something I will always regret. Among our friends, Anita Galinski Ganley, Sylvia Cady Meisten, Shirley Cady Peevers, Ruth Marsico Shepard, Susan Moulton, Gail Unrue, Sally Tholander Melnick. Kathy and I shared similar interests including a passion for anything reminiscent of circa 1820. Tony was always "the one". R.I.P. Kathy. Love, Birdie (Roberta Martin Torchio McLaughlin)

Kathy had the most welcoming heart. Always making company feel at ease. Sharing conversation on any topic was a shear joy. Kathy was so special. I will miss her smile, her laugh.I can still recall these memories as if they just happened yesterday. I will never forget the happiness she brought to my life. Love you Kathy!
